Looking down on the Dubai Fountain from the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world.
The 900 ft long fountain, costing more than £170 million is illuminated by more than 6,000 lights and 50 colour projectors. With the help of water robots and extreme water jets it can shoot 22,000 gallons of water up to 500 feet in the air - all choreographed to classic music tracks. Apologies, I’m a bit of a facts nerd!
But it is the abstract shapes that I love most about the fountain.
This piece was created from an original photograph, digitally coloured by hand and printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium. The metallic finish and vivid colours emphasize the wonderful abstract shapes. The outer layer of gold represents the fountain’s outrageous, lavish and ostentacious appearance.
