Griffith Observatory Cactus

Naturally I love the architecture of the Griffith Observatory. The 1930’s building boasts some lovely shapes and gorgeous details.
But it was the beautiful shapes of the cactus dotted around the outside that took my breath away last time I visited. The composition in this image intrigued me, with the curvy shapes of all the leaves almost protecting the icon behind.
‘Griffith Observatory Cactus’ is created from my original photograph. I’ve coloured the leaves with a multitude of colours to draw attention to their magnificence! The image is printed on brushed aluminium, which makes the colours even more vivid, and picks out the Observatory’s details.
