The Amtrak train - another of my favourite America icons. I love the shiny metallic exterior, contrasting with the splash of red and blue colour; the curve of the roof; and the fact that it is a 'double decker' - something we don't have in London, my hometown.
This piece is created from an original photograph taken on a recent trip from LA's Union Station to Solana beach near San Diego. I've given the work a vivid pink sky to contrast with the shimmering silver of the train. Printing the image on brushed aluminium reflects the train’s beautiful metallic finish.
LA Journeys is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
