My fascination with shapes and lines influences most of my art. I became obsessed with the twisted shapes of the Los Angeles freeways as they wind their way through the sprawling metropolis.
I hired a helicopter to fly over the city with the doors off to capture this bird's eye view. I digitally coloured the photograph by hand, even the cars parked on the street. The image was then printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the piece an etched appearance, and really highlights the beautiful twisting shapes of the freeways.
Los Angeles From Above is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered world-wide in about 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes the piece incredibly easy to hang.
