Miami Lifeguard Tower (57th Street), box-framed: £650
Miami Lifeguard Tower (57th Street). 52 × 52 cm, edition of 25, £650
I have become obsessed with the lifeguard huts that decorate the beaches in Miami.
This piece is created from an original photograph, digitally coloured, and printed on brushed aluminium, which brings out the vivid colours of the hut.
Completed with a thick gold aluminium box-frame.
The towers started popping up after Hurrican Andrew in the 1990s and quickly became a symbol of Miami’s revival after the devastation. There are around 36 of the towers along the coastline of Miami Beach, each one with a different design and bright colour scheme. They symbolise the essence of the city - bold, loud and beautiful.
Please note: this piece is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 7-10 days.
