New York Skyline (from Long Island City)

We’re spolit for choice with incredible views of the Manhattan skyline but this is one of my favourites. Taken from Long Island City it features two of my favourite architectural landmarks from two different decades - the 1920’s Chrysler Building next to the United Nations from the 1940’s.
To create this piece I have digitally coloured my original photograph and printed it on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium. The aluminium picks out the shapes, outlines and details of the buildings and gives the image an etched appearance. The vivid fuchsia colour of the sky and river contrasts with the matt silver of the skyline and trees.
‘New York Skyline’ is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around two weeks. It comes with an aluminium subframe on the back, which makes it incredibly easy to hang.
