I love New York's iconic objects. Ever since I first visit New York I became obsessed with the yellow metal traffic lights hanging above the streets. And I even bought a Walk/Don't Walk lit box. They look like they're from a bygone age. There's something very comforting about them.
This piece is created from an original photograph, digitally coloured by hand and printed on brushed aluminium, which brings out the vivid colours and the traffic light's metallic appearance. I wanted to highlight the contrast of the bright yellow metal and the patterns of the brick apartments in Greenwich Village.
New York Traffic Light is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
