Going Round Berlin (brushed aluminium)
68 x 91cm, edition of 25
This might seem a little weird, but I’ve become obsessed with manhole covers around the world recently. Some of them feature some beautiful patterns and designs, like this one in Berlin.
The rusted circle of iron boasts some of the city’s famous landmarks including the Brandenburg Gate, Television Tower, Reichstag Building, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Olympiastadion, Federal Chancellery Building, and the Victory Column.
This piece was created from an original photograph, digitally coloured, and printed on a slim sheet of brushed alumnium, which reflects the manhole cover’s material and brings out the details of the landmarks.
Going Round Berlin is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
