The South Bank stairs – another of my favourite places that I cycled to during lockdown. They were like a beacon of hope. I’ve always loved its Brutalist shape, and the bold yellow colours snaking its way up to the roof garden.
This piece is created from my original photograph and digitally coloured. I’ve given the piece a painterly feel and contrasted it with a vivid pink sky. Printing it on brushed aluminium makes the bright colours appear even more vivid, almost fluorescent.
