The Vessel (silver on black, brushed aluminium)

One of the newest Manhattan masterpieces, opened in in 2019, and already one of my favourites. I became obsessed with this sensational pieces of architecture on a recent visit. It's gorgeous honeycomb shape, 2,500 steps, spectacular angles and metallic appearance make it the perfect subject for my art. It was a tough ask to Mark Beattie, an artist friend of mine to run to the top for the picture, but it was worth it. Well, it was for me.
The piece is created from an original photgraph, digitally coloured by hand, and printing on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium, giving it a sleek modern feel. Using a strong colour highlights the simple beauty of the Vessel's silhouette, which is left in lovely silver metal finish.
The Vessel (silver on black) is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang. The Vessel is also available in a yellow/black and a purple/black edition.
