From my Little Apple collection: ‘Celebrate the Big Apple with a little piece of art.’
I’m obsessed with the shapes, colours, and industrial urban feel of New York’s human-like fire hydrants, with their many different coats. With its stars and stripes coat this one seems about as American as you can get. I have also always loved the vivid colours and contrasts of American pop art, so the fluorescent green works well with the urban feel of the hydrant.
This piece is created from an original photograph and coloured digitally by hand. Printed on a small piece of brushed aluminium to mimic the fire hydrant’s metallic appearance. Floated in a hand-painted wood frame.
