Little London, British Museum
15 x 4 x 25 cm, edition of 30
From my Little London collection: ‘Celebrate the Big Smoke with a little piece of art.’
The repeated patterns of the ceiling and the circular room in the middle of the British Museum’s Great Court make it an obvious subject for my work. This piece is created from an original photograph. I coloured each segment of the glass ceiling digitally by hand to highlight it’s beautiful mosaic-like pattern. A few of the museum’s vistors were also digitally painted to give the piece some balance and a sense of scale.
The image is printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives it an etched appearance and some texture. It is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.
Little London, British Museum is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in 2-3 weeks.
