This is London’s Air Ambulance - part of an inspirational team delivering life-saving treatment to London’s 10 million people. Since their launch in 1989 they have treated more than 40,000 patients.
In 2019, five of my fellow artists and I were truly priviledged to meet the Air Ambulance crew here at the helipad on top of the Royal London Hospital. LAA were our charity partners for A River Runs Through It, our annual London-inspired group show at gallery@oxo. We hope to be raising money for them again at our 2020 exhibition from September 2-6th, whatever form that might take.
Apart from the superb views of the London skyline it was incredible to hear the crew’s emotional stories of the incidents they have attendeed, more than 1,600 last year. 50% of the sale of this edition will be donated to the charity.
London’s Air Ambulance is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
