The repeated patterns of the ceiling and the circular room in the middle of the British Museum’s Great Court made it an obvious subject for my work. This piece is created from an original photograph. I coloured each segment of the glass ceiling digitally by hand to highlight its beautiful mosaic-like pattern. A few of the museum’s vistors were also digitally painted to give the piece some balance and a sense of scale.
The image is printed on a slim sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives it an etched appearance and some texture.
