One of New York’s most iconic landmarks, and a personal favourite. This piece is created from my photograph of the first Nathan’s, opened in 1916 on Coney Island. I love the array of colours, fonts, shapes and neons - I had to make a Nathan’s art work.
I’ve coloured almost all the signs and shapes in their original colours to give it a pop-art feel. Printing the image on brushed aluminum gives it an etched appearance, and enhances the vivid colours.
