Thames Barrier (brushed aluminium)

There’s something so beautiful about the Thames Barrier, built in the 1980’s to prevent Greater London being flooded. I think it’s the shape and curves of the gates, and the patterns and colour of the steel. This piece is created from an original photograph and printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium which really brings out the barrier’s material. Colouring the sky with a vivid pink contrasts beautifully with the silvery grey of the steel.
Thames Barrier is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
