I have always loved New York’s water towers - their barrel-shaped silhouettes perched on the top of so many buildings are such an iconic sight in the city. There are more than 17,000 of them and only three family-run companies have made them in the hundred years since they first appeared.
This piece is created from an original photograph taken on a walk along the Highline, digitally coloured and printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium. The image is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.
