‘Only in Dubai’
‘Only in Dubai’, a recent tourism slogan proudly announced. It really is a city of superlatives: the largest, the tallest, the biggest, the shiniest! With its soaring skyscrapers and islands shaped like palm trees the city’s ultra-modern architecture make it a superb artistic muse.

The Burj Al Arab is my favourite building in Dubai. Perched on an artificial island the luxury hotel is designed to look like the billowing sail of a J-Class yacht. Tiger Woods has teed off from the rooftop helipad. Andre Agassi and Roger Federer have played tennis up there too!
This piece was created from an original photograph, digtally coloured and printed on a super-slim piece of brushed aluminium. This gives the piece an etched appearance, picking up the beautiful shapes and lines. The gold sky is a nod to the lavish luxury of the hotel. A chunky aluminium box-frame completes the piece.

Looking down on the Dubai Fountain from the top of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest skyscraper in the world.
The 900 ft long fountain, costing more than £170 million is illuminated by more than 6,000 lights and 50 colour projectors. With the help of water robots and extreme water jets it can shoot 22,000 gallons of water up to 500 feet in the air - all choreographed to classic music tracks. Apologies, I’m a bit of a facts nerd!
This piece was created from an original photograph, painstakingly digitally coloured by hand and printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium. The metallic finish, contrasting with the vivid colours, highlights the beautiful abstract shapes of the fountain and the detail of the surrounding buildings.
Dubai Fountain From Above is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.

Dubai has one of the tallest skylines in the world and boasts some of the most spectacular skyscapers including the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building at over 2,700 feet.
This piece was created from an original photograph taken from a small plane, digtally coloured and printed on a super-slim piece of brushed aluminium. This gives the piece an etched appearance and highlights the contrast between the skyline of skyscrapers and the flat oasis leading up to it.

But it is the abstract shapes that I love most about the fountain.
This piece was created from an original photograph, digitally coloured by hand and printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium. The metallic finish and vivid colours emphasize the wonderful abstract shapes. The outer layer of gold represents the fountain’s outrageous, lavish and ostentacious appearance.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building in the world. And it really is majestic, towering 2,722 feet above us. I’m a bit a stats nerd so here goes: the skyscraper contains the world’s highest restaurant on the 122nd floor, the world’s highest nightclub on the 144th floor, more than 1000 pieces of art, and 24,348 windows which take 36 workers 3-4 months to clean! I love the building’s design - it is truly monumental - a perfect subject for my art.
This piece was created from an original photograph, digitally coloured and printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium. The metallic finish gives the piece an etched effect, and brings out the building’s beautiful curves, lines and repeated patterns.
