It’s a famous quote about this special place. And it’s not hard to disagree: the year-round tropical climate, the bold flavours of its Latin-American cuisine (Empanadas for me if anyone’s ordering), the high-octane world of the Miaimi Dolphins and Miami Heat sports teams, 35 miles of golden beaches, and the most stunning collection of Art Deco buildings in the world. Loud, proud, and full of colour - that’s the Miami I love.

I have become obsessed with the lifeguard huts that decorate the beaches in Miami.
The towers started popping up after Hurrican Andrew in the 1990s and quickly became a symbol of Miami’s revival after the devastation. There are around 36 of the towers along the coastline of Miami Beach, each one with a different design and bright colour scheme. They symbolise the essence of the city - bold, loud and beautiful. This one reminds me of Lisa Simpson.

Miami is one of my favourite cities in the world. I love its sense of fun, colour, and above all the stunning Art Deco architecture. Almost every building in South Beach is a masterpiece of design.
This is the Royal Palm Hotel - built in the 1930s. It served as a military barracks for the troops that trained in Miami during the war. It opened in 1945 for vacationers and was fulled restored to its former glory in the 1990s.
The clean lines, stunning shapes, unusual angles and the beautiful colour scheme make this a big favourite of mine. The piece is created from an original photograph and printed on brushed aluminium, which makes the colours extra vivid. I’ve coloured the sky pink to honour the famous pastel tones of the Art Deco movement and contrast with the hotel’s bright yellow lines.
