SALE: Los Angeles From Above (brushed aluminium)
91 x 68 cm, £350, usually £950
On SALE until February 15th only. One edition available.
NOTE: As you can see from the photographs this piece has one of two scuff marks on it. If you can live with the blemishes you can get hold of an incredible bargain.
My fascination with shapes and lines influences most of my art. I became obsessed with the twisted shapes cast by the freeways of Los Angeles as they wind they're way through the sprawling metropolis.
I hired a helicopter to fly over the city with the doors off to enable to capture this bird's eye view over the city. I digitally coloured the photograph by hand, even the cars parked on the street.
The image was then printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the piece an etched effect.
