I have a confession. I am a Routemaster nerd. There, I’ve said it. In print. I love the curves and shapes of the vintage 1950’s design. I love the patterns of the seats. I love it’s trademark red colour. I love the shape and detail. I was very happy that the Routemaster was voted one of Britain's top 10 design icons in a 2006 poll!
This piece was created from an original photograph of one of the buses still running in London. It was digitally coloured by hand and printed on a super-slim sheet of ultra-glossy aluminium. This brings out the gorgeous details of the front grill and makes the red colour extra vivid.
Routemaster Bus made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
