Carnaby Street

£950.00
Limited Edition

61 x 91cm, edition of 25

Carnaby Street is believed to have originated in the 1680’s but it is the swinging sixties that really put it on the map when it became popular with followers of the mod and hippy styles, and fashion designers such as Mary Quant. It became one of the coolest fashion destinations in London and was even satirised by The Kinks in their 1966 hit, ’Dedicated Follower of Fashion’.

This piece is created from an original photograph. The people in the bustling crowd are coloured individually by hand on a graphics tablet using bright colours, as they might have been wearing back in the day. The image is printed on a thin sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the piece an etched appearance.

Carnaby Street is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
