Grand Central Station - probably my favourite building in the world. The sheer scale of it’s beauty and design is breathtaking. Opened in 1913 it sums up everything I love about New York - the hustle and bustle, the colour and the stunning architecture.
This piece is created from an original photograph and painstakingly coloured digitally by hand, including every person on the concourse and the exquisite ceiling. The image is printed directly onto a small sheet of aluminum which gives it an etched appearance, picking out the beautiful details of the station. The image is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.

I love the beautiful blue colour of the Manhattan Bridge. It often gets overshadowed by the more famous Brooklyn Bridge but this is equally beautiful I think. It looks like it has weathered the highs and lows of the Big Apple’s history with it’s faded colour and robust chunky design.

The New York skyline is stunning from any viewpoint. And this is one of my (many) favourites. This piece is created from an original photograph taken from the ferry from Greenpoint to Long Island City. I have coloured the sky and water with vivid tones which contrast with the industrial skyline, which is left untouched from from original picture. Although I live in London the Big Apple is one of my favourite cities in the world and often the subject of my art. I love the city’s mix of historic buildings and modern skyscrapers. I love the patterns of the streets and the shapes cast by the Hudson river.
This piece is created from an original photograph, taken a helicopter trip with the doors off. It is then digitially coloured by hand and printed directly onto a slim sheet of aluminum, which gives it an etched appearance and brings out the intricate details of Manhattan’s buildings. I've always been a fan of the beautiful facade of the historic Bloomingdales department store. And I love the city’s yellow cabs too, especially with the 'Ride Yellow' campaign slogan on its roof - a reminder of New York’s feisty character.

I love the lines and patterns of a city - you can see these perfectly from the air. New York is a perfect example of this. I love the intricate patterns seen in so many of New York's iconic landmarks. This is one of my favourites. This artwork is created from an original photograph of Brooklyn Bridge and digitally coloured. The criss-cross patterns of the bridge’s design lend themselves perfectly to the thin aluminium surface it is printed on. The lines you see here appear as pure metal on the piece, picking up the light as you move across the picture. I've coloured a few people in vivid colours to contrast with the black and silver lines. I love the simple yet powerful design of the Statue of Liberty. I wanted to convey a sense of strength, boldness, and power - something which suggested the statue is proud to be there, centre stage. The pop art style using bold colours and aluminium surface help create this feeling.

New York has some of the greatest architecture in the world - almost everywhere you look there is a historic landmark. Completed in 1902 and now a National Historic Landmark, The Flatiron Building is one of the most unusual buildings in the city.

I’m obsessed with the shapes, colours, and industrial urban feel of New York’s human-like fire hydrants, with their many different coats. With its stars and stripes coat this one seems about as American as you can get. I have also always loved the vivid colours and contrasts of American pop art, so the fluorescent green works well with the urban feel of the hydrant.

I love New York's iconic objects. Ever since I first visit New York I became obsessed with the yellow metal traffic lights hanging above the streets. And I even bought a Walk/Don't Walk lit box. They look like they're from a bygone age. There's something very comforting about them.

Described as one of the greatest projects of the Great Depression the Rockefeller Center is now one of New York’s most iconic buildings. The 1930’s Art Deco beauty was declared a National Historic landmark in the 1980’s. You can see a hint of its famous ice rink flanked by a square of world flags at the bottom of the image.

The Oculus - possibly my favourite modern building in New York. Designed on the outside to look like “a bird taking flight from a young boy’s hand to show that no matter what obstacles the city faces it will always be hopeful.”
On the inside it feels like a cathedral with its congregation of commuters and shoppers.
