Every September four fellow artists and I host A River Runs Through It, a London-inspired exhibition at gallery@oxo on the South Bank. This is the view from outside the gallery: South Bank Pier and the London skyline. Beautiful.

The National Theatre on London's South Bank is one of my favourite artistic muses. Every time I see it I notice new angles and shapes. The simple Brutalist block shapes lend themselves to my style of art. This is one of my favourite angles – it almost seems to be 3-D here, poking out of the piece.
The image is created from an original photograph and printed onto a small piece of brushed aluminium. The metal brings out the vivid colour of the sky contrasting beautifully with the stark grey concrete. It is floated in a hand-painted waxed wood frame.

I love the lines and shape of the chimneys at London's iconic Battersea Power Station. Finally after many years of neglect they have been fully restored to their former glory.
This piece is created from an original photograph of the first chimney to completed. It is printed on a small piece of brushed aluminium and floated in a hand-painted waxed wood frame. The concrete of the chimney contrasts nicely with the vivid pink/fuschia sky, fitting for the resurrection and bright future of a once lost building.

The Palace of Westminster, better known as the Houses of Parliament. Like of loathe those inside the building, rebuilt in 1840, is still one of the most impressive landmarks in London.

St Paul’s Cathedral, one of my favourite buildings in London, built by Sir Christopher Wren between 1675 and 1710. Its ornate design and stunning shape makes it the perfect subject for my art.
For this piece, created from an original photograph, I have stripped it down to show how the basic curves, lines and angles combine to produce the Dome’s famous shape. The image is digitally coloured and printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium. The outlines you can see are the aluminium, which glistens as the light hits them. A few months ago I went on a journey that I will remember forever - sailing down the river Thames at 4 am on a small rescue boat. Apart from the beautiful tranquility gliding through the water it was a treat to see the gorgeous shapes of so many landmarks silhouetted against the changing colours of the sunrise.
This piece was created from the view I saw approaching Blackfriars Bridge, with St Paul's, the Cheesegrater, the Oxo Tower and more lined up side by side.

I am always looking for more interesting and unusual angles for my images, preferably a view that we don’t see very often. This piece was created from an original photograph taken while hanging out of a helicopter with the doors off. I love how the colours divide the image.
The original photograph was digitally coloured by hand (there are a lot of spokes on that wheel) and then printed on a slim sheet of brushed aluminium. This gives the piece an etched appearance and really picks out the detail of the Eye and buildings.

I am constantly looking for new and unusual angles for my work. The image for this piece was created from a photograph taken while hanging out of a helicopter with the doors off. I asked the pilot to hover as long as he was allowed, until the iconic red buses were spread evenly throughout the image.
The image, including the buses and taxis are digitally coloured by hand. The crowds of people, looking like tiny ants, are represented by dabs of strong colours. London at its vibrant bustling best.

The Lloyd’s Building is one of my favourite buildings in London. Richard Rogers’ masterpiece is made of metal after all, my favourite material.

The view shows everything I love about London: the incredible number of beautiful landmarks (old and new), the beautiful patterns in the landscape, and the gorgeous curves of the river Thames as it carves its way through the metropolis.

I love anything with an instantly recognisable shape - to me that is the sign of a great design. London's iconic black cab is one of the best examples of this. In 2014 artists Paul Cummins and Tom Piper created 888,246 ceramic poppies which filled the Tower of London’s famous moat in a truly memorable and emotional installation.
I was lucky to be able to see the poppies from the air when I took a helicopter trip (with the doors off) over London. It was a no-brainer to create a piece of art from the original photograph. After colouring the photograph digitally by hand it was printed on a slim sheet of brushed aluminium. This gives the piece an etched appearance and brings out the detail of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The vivid red of the poppies contrasts strongly with the silver of the metal, focusing our eyes on the installation and given a sense of scale too. The image is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.

One of my favourourite things about London is the mix of the old and the new. And this is a perfect example. I love being able to stroll down a street packed with old buldings and then look up to see a modern skyscraper sandwiched in between.

I like the composition of this image because it is split into three part: the iconic fountains in the foreground, and a queue of people snaking their way towards the beautiful Portrtait Gallery. Colouring the people in the middle places a separate emphasis on the two famous sights in the image.

The repeated patterns of the ceiling and the circular room in the middle of the British Museum’s Great Court make it an obvious subject for my work. This piece is created from an original photograph. I coloured each segment of the glass ceiling digitally by hand to highlight it’s beautiful mosaic-like pattern. A few of the museum’s vistors were also digitally painted to give the piece some balance and a sense of scale.

In an age when many buildings look the same Richard Rogers' design truly stands out. Despite being more than 30 years old it still looks sleek, modern and futuristic.

One of the many things I love about London is people watching. City life is a blur of different colours as we all rush here and there. This piece was created from an original photograph of commuters waiting for the train home at Liverpool Street Station in London.
Each person, and the departure and arrivals board, was painstakingly coloured by hand in a variety of colours to illustate the melting pot of people in the metropolis. Another of my favourite London landmarks and the location of A River Runs Through It, our annual London-inspired group show at the Oxo Gallery. The building dates back to the 1920’s when it was home to the famous Oxo cube company. Its trademark O-X-O letters were apparently built into the design to get around the strict advertising laws at the time. Genius.

The Oxo Tower on London's South Bank, one of my favourite buildings in the world. I love its shapes, lines and colour. And who doesn’t love a story of getting the better of the authorities? Architect Albert Moore cheekily incorporated the famous O-X-O design as windows to get around a ban on skyline advertising in the late 1920’s.
This piece is created from an original photograph and printed on a small sheet of brushed aluminium, which brings out the details of the building and the patterns of the OXO. Colouring the background with a variety of bold colours contrasts nicely with the silver metallic finish. The image is floated in a hand-painted wood frame.

The view shows everything I love about London: the incredible number of beautiful landmarks (old and new), the beautiful patterns in the landscape, and the gorgeous curves of the river Thames as it carves its way through the metropolis.
